Two photographer friends are threatened by their boss for their mediocre performance who then try to steal a famous photographer’s work to win a competition and impress their boss in the process.

While Sam (John Abraham) manages to get his hands on some good photographs, Mac (Akshay Kumar) fails. The former wins a percentage of the prize money and gets an increment as a result while the latter is left in tatters by a demotion. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie showcases the reversed role of a father-son duo. Gaurav (Akshay Khanna) takes care of his widowed father Janrdharn (Paresh Rawal). This is his way of showing respect to him for raising him and his brother since they were toddlers.

Gaurav acts like a protective parent, constantly on the look-out of his father’s safety and even takes the liberty to scold him. The twist of the movie is introduced when the son becomes aware of his father’s long lost first love and then, strives to reunite them.

The comic is brought to the fore by the reversed roles, slapstick elements, Janardhan’s change in behaviour as he meets his beloved and so on. An underrated movie on the landscape of Indian Cinema, it shows how children can be very similar to their parents in their approach.
